Where it started
It started with a barn conversion...
Amhurst began on a building site when Debbie and Nick spent their savings on a run-down barn and lived in a caravan while converting it, doing the work themselves with trades they knew. 30 years in construction followed and the last 12 years running a building company together specialising in barn conversions and new build projects.
That background is why a quote gets questioned and why a maintenance complaint gets understood rather than passed on. We understand buildings as well as tenancies.
Why we exist
We listened to what landlords complain about, then built a business to fix it.
Before opening, we spent months listening to what landlords actually say about letting agents. Being left in the dark. Chasing updates that should arrive automatically. Paying more for maintenance than the job was worth. Every one of those became a decision about how Amhurst would work.
